Days Out
Harrogate is part of what is known to the locals as the “Golden Triangle”. A term commonly used for the area of West and North Yorkshire lying between Harrogate, York, North Leeds and their surrounding towns like stunning Knaresborough
With superb transport links in Harrogate to the city centres of Leeds, York, Ripon and the town of Knaresborough you may wish to venture further afield on your own, to enjoy more of the surrounding areas of Harrogate.
Perhaps you would like to have a Day at the Races! York racecourse, Ripon racecourse and Wetherby racecourse are all close-by. Or you wish to enjoy some history at Knaresborough Castle, Ripley Castle, Bolton Abbey, the Gothic Ripon Cathedral, Newby Hall and Gardens, York Minster - another magnificent cathedral, Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal or perhaps a trip to the Skipton market.
You could even go as far as a drive out to visit the Yorkshire Dales and do some walking in nearby Nidderdale or perhaps you want to go further afield to the seaside at Whitby or Scarborough. Both would be options for a day trip as they are just a few hours drive from Harrogate.
A day out exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the North Yorkshire Moors National Park would be an eye opening experience for you to see why so many people choose to live in Harrogate with such beautiful scenic views surrounding the town.
With places so close to Harrogate for you to explore; Brimham Rocks, How Stean Gorge, Stump Cross Caverns, Plumpton Rocks and Harewood House, a tour would be a superb way to make the most out of your stay with us. We recommend YorTours who are one of our Harrogate Lifestyle Partners.
